Trust & Fiduciary
Trusts and foundations are invaluable tools for the preservation of individual and family wealth.
Assets are typically placed in a trust and managed by a trustee on behalf of the beneficiaries. A trust structure allows for the separation of legal ownership from beneficial ownership, providing a high degree of flexibility and confidentiality.
Foundations offer a hybrid solution between trusts and companies, and they are often used for philanthropic ventures.
Jersey Law Trusts
Jersey Law Trusts are a frequently used for succession planning, asset protection, wealth management, and in some cases tax efficiency.
The Island operates its own legal and judicial system which is based on common law principles and remains one of the best regulated international finance centres, with innovative legislation and regulation designed to protect stakeholders.
Jersey was a pioneer in introducing its own trust law in 1984, with development and enhancements continually being made to ensure this law and others provide flexibility and is attractive to domestic and international markets. Many other offshore jurisdictions have developed their own trust law based upon Jersey’s trust law and legal precedent.
